Welcome, my name is Kara Moritz. I'm a soon-to-be-graduated filmmaker from Portland State University. I'm passionate about doing the work of producing, directing, sound recording, and livestream broadcasting.
It was many years of club and collegiate softball that built my love for being part of a team, and facilitating the success of every member that is so essential to producing. I have spent the last 3 years honing my skills in coordinating extended shooting schedules, large volumes of extras, extensive gear rentals, and location logistics.
A lifelong fascination with human interaction led to my desire to capture small, often overlooked moments, and expand the stories that are told onscreen in my directing. To this end I have also studied acting, to better understand the responsibilities of the director. I have gained experience directing narrative, documentary, branded content, and livestream broadcast.
In college I discovered a love for recording great sound on set and highlighting it in my storytelling, and have worked as a boom operator and sound recordist on a variety of set types.
I hope to be finding meaningful moments, building up teams, and recording great sound with you sometime soon.
